Dinosaurs, babies and snow

I've been watching scifi series lately. I haven't been that interested in scifi before, but now... I don't know why, I'm thrilled! =D It started last year, when Ktiraam recommended Primeval for me. I started watching it, mostly out of  boredom, but soon I had seen the whole series! XD

Next came Torchwood, which has been a big favourite for a long time, but we've been rewatching it with Ktiraam (she's the one who's got me hooked on scifi! ;D). After that came Dresden Files, because I've been reading the books and of course had to see the series too. And then it was Terra Nova's turn. That series has some problems, but it's still a great watch! I hope they'll make more than one season, 12 episodes is not enough. It was really weird to see that bad guy from Avatar being so damn cool, but he's my favourite character in the series.

And now for two days I've been watching Sanctuary. And it's great too! After I have that watched, I still have Stargate Atlantis and Firefly on my watch list. Do you have any more recommendations? I'm really new to this theme, so all I've really seen is the original Stargåte... which I loved too. =P (I tried Stargate Universe, but that one was wayyy too depressing for my taste)
Oh and Doctor Who, thanks to my friend Penpen! ♥

Then to babies: Yesterday was the first birthday of my (step)sisters daughter Emilia. And once again I took about 200 photos of her. It was a fun day and I'd love to show photos of her here, but internet is not a safe place for a one year old kid, so I'll guard her privacy. ♥
But, I do have a few photos to show.
I reorganized my apartment a few months ago
(was it that long ago) and wanted to take some
photos of the new stuff. This is the alcove, my
bed is below the photo. I just love it how it
looks now: simplistic but stylish. (Royo ♥)
Emilia's 1st birthday cake, a moomin.
The cake is made by my stepsister Kaisu! =D
View from my dad's balcony to the snowy city.
The skijump towers are there... and the pretty sunset.
The sun sets at about 4-5 in the winter so it's
not as late as it looks.
Another photo of the same view. The
colours are so beautiful, it's the "blue moment."
It's been really Really winter'y here lately. And this week it's gonna get freeeeeeezing! I'm already wearing my warmest winter-jacket (a huge featherjacket) and it's gonna get about 10 degrees colder... how am I gonna survive? HAHA! ^^;
This weeks temperatures will hit -20 to -27 celsius... that's -4 to -17 Fahrenheit. Brrrrrrrrrrr. And of course with this cold cold weather everyone's having a flu. I'm fighting it but my head is just so damn stuffy, yuk! XD
Oh yeah, then there's this:
Pekka Haavisto for president!
Pekka is the best, kakkonen on
ykkönen. ♥

Below zero

Outside. It is. Freezing. But it's also been sunny. The few hours you can see the sun here in the North. =P

This has been a good day! I've been cleaning the house, cooking, grocery shopping, taking short walks, knitting, reading, doing dishes, cleaning the freezer, taking out garbage, watching documentaries, making phone calls... and not eating anything super sugary. I'm trying to get my diet in order again. It's so hard, but on these good days, it's much easier.
Yesterday was a gym day. Tomorrow is a gym day. One day is reserved for my viking , one for doing nothing, one for taking care of official stuffs. Well, that's a full week. =D

It took me all day yesterday to get over this weekend. I had so much fun on Saturday with Ktiraam, we watched Torchwood, Season 1, tons of episodes, but I don't know which ones, Ktiraam keeps track of them, I just watch. XD
Torchwood. Jack, Gwen & Ianto. ^___^
And on Sunday we celebrated fathers day at my dads. All the "kids" were there: me, my sister (and her kids) and my brother. I loved seeing my sister and brother. But it was tough too. I can't tell about everything everyone's going through, because there are a lot of secrets, but let's just say that life is being pretty shitty for almost everyone right now. Rough things and tough times ahead. Urgh. It got me pretty down. And as much as I've been trying to tell myself that I cannot change these things and should not worry about them so much... how can you not worry when people you love are going through... stuff. =(

But I don't want to make this another negative post, so something positive to end this. I don't know if I've talked about it here, but I'm an atheist. Not like most Finns, who are not just going to church and not reading the bible. I don't believe in god. Any of them. They are nice stories that give people hope and strength. But to me god is like Santa Claus.
Even when I'm not religious, I'm very interested of other people's points of views, world views and things that are happening around the world. So I read a lot about religions. I want to know about them, I don't shun them, I am just completely sure that there is no god. ^_^

The reason why I brought this up, was to advertise a wonderful man. I am so hooked on his voice, HAHA! XD Richard Dawkins is one of the leading atheism spokespersons, a handsome British gentleman with a voice of a... god. (I made a funny, nyihihhiiii X3) If you are an atheist, or openminded to that sort of thing, undecided or stuff, listen to his lectures, he is woooonderful. And he's not agressive. He's always polite and doesn't raise his voice, he has clear opinions and he can always explain them. He doesn't talk "shit", he knows what he's talking about and has proof. He can turn minds.
... maybe that's enough praise for one night. Now I'm going back to listen to his lectures, easily found on Youtube. Hurraa!

Thor

I had an incredibly nice time with my viking last night. ♥ And today I got to see another Viking on the big screen. Haha. We went to see Thor with my friend Ktiraam. ^__^

The movie was awesome. The effects were great, especially in 3D. The landscapes and buildings in Asgard were magnificent and the main character Thor was great. A new actor, who I wish to see a lot more of. And he's so handsome that we had to fan ourselves every now and then with Ktiraam, mraurrrr. ;D~
Natalie Portman is also in the movie and I love her, she's great. The storyline is exciting and nicely built, it works though it's not the most surprising one. There are a few surprises that you wouldn't expect to see. ^_^ There is humour and romance and excitement. It's not a Viking mythology story although the names would suggest so, but there are still some nice Viking elements to spice things up. I'm not a big Marvel fan, it's just never really been my thing, though I've liked a lot of the Marvel movies that have come out lately. This movie I do recommend, full heartedly.

Though of all the new films that have come out this year, the best one so far has been Black Swan. ♥ Thor didn't quite get there, but it was great nonetheless (and very different). And I loved Tangled. The animation was great and the story so... Disney. They always make you smile. ^_^
Battle Los Angeles was okay too, though a little too "war" for me. Too macho and bloody.

Now I'm really waiting for
1) The last Harry Potter
2) Transformers 3
3) Sherlock Holmes 2
4) X-Men first class
5) First Avenger: Captain America
6) Green Lantern
7) Pirates of the Caribbean

=D There are way too many good ones coming out this year! =D
