a long way

I am starting a rehabilitative work 5th March! This is kind of a really big deal because the last time I was able to work, was 2008. I've come a long way since them, woah! I am gonna make silver jewelry on Mondays and crafts on Wednesdays. I went to visit the place today and it seemed really nice, I cannot wait to get to work.

I hope I get to show my drawing skills too, but the most important thing is that I got there! YAYY! \^_^/ It's a 3 month deal and after that it might continue.

Then, a friend of mine at Facebook did this Self improvement goals list and it made me want to do a list of my own. It's sort of funny to realize that 5 years ago my list would have been completely different, completely. 3 years ago I wouldn't have been able to make a list, back then my only wish was to get better.
Now... I'm starting to set up goals. At the same time I've learned not to expect too much, it only leads to disappointment. But there are all things I want, perhaps I'm not able to get them right away, but then on the long run. =)

Physical
- Go to work twice a week and maybe even thrice a week by the end of the spring.
- Lose weight.
- Get more muscle strength.
- Go to the gym twice a week and walk 3 times a week.
- Go out at least once per day.
- Stretch at least once a week for an hour.
- Eat chocolate only once a week.
- Drink at least 4 cups of green tea daily.
- Eat healthier.
- Clean the house once a week.
- Do the dishes once a week.
- Do art at least once a week.
- Spend more time with friends.
- Stop being a hermit.

Emotional
- Try to control anxiety
- Don't let depression get a hold of you!
- Do not over-exert yourself, that only leads to feeling worse.
- Don't make goals you know you can't keep.
- Keep your promises.
- Don't panic so much.
- Learn to relax.
- Patience!!
- Learn not to collapse when things don't go the way as planned.
- Don't be negative.
- Smile at least once a day.

Happy Friends day!

Valentine's day is translated "Ystävänpäivä" in Finnish, which makes it Friends day. I think this translation has changed the whole meaning of the day here. We celebrate it, not with our partners alone, but with everyone who are special and dear to us, our friends.
We buy gifts for friends and family or eat all together. Of course lovers wish happy friends day for each other too and can make up special plans, but that's just one way to celebrate it.

I like this way a lot more. The original valentines day makes you feel lonely if you're a single, and that's not at all nice. It's much nicer to celebrate all together. ^_^
Lately I've become sort of a hermit. I spend a lot of time alone, doing stuff just by myself. But I still think about my friends, they are dear to me and I miss them badly. Time spent with friends is always a cheer up, a happy moment. So Happy friends day for everyone. ^__^

And a special hug and kiss for my Viking. ^_^

To the gym I go

Issue 1:
So, Pekka Haavisto did not win the Finnish presidential election. The likely thing happened: Finland is not ready to have a gay president. It's been said all around the media this past week (after the election was over) that his sexual preferences. =(
But oh well, the new president, Sauli Niinistö isn't that bad a choice. He wasn't my first choice, but I don't hate him either. Here's a funny picture of him, the first day as a president of our country. And no, it's not staged, people do their own housework here. =P

Issue 2:
I was sick all last week, so my birthday celebration was a bit scant. I had a nice night with Ktiraam and penpen, watching the election on Sunday, but the girls has work the next day and I was still a little flu'ish so there was no big party. I still want to celebrate my birthday more than just eating a bad of chocolate candies, but that has to wait a while. ^^;

Issue 3:
I had a meeting at my gym this Tuesday to make a new gym schedule and program for me. And it's gonna be a tough one! But I kind of asked for it, I want to get fitter and lose weight so I'm gonna exercise 5 days/week! It has started well, yesterday I spent a whole our at the gym, exercise bicycle and today I walked for an hour and 20 minutes. Tomorrow is a gym-day again.
I am so excited about this new exercise program of mine, but I really hope I can still do it if I get a job this spring. We'll see. Have to live one day at a time. ^_^
Issue 4:
Sign the petition and if there's a demonstration near you, you can also take part there. Let's show that people  will not just stand still when their freedom of speech is tampered with.
The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement, which has already been signed by several countries, poses a dangerous threat to the inherent freedom and openess of the Internet. Under ACTA, ISPs and websites will be given more power to track what we do online, while forcing them to turn over our information and reporting our activity to the authorities -- all in the name of copyright protection! While we respect the rights of creators, ACTA's ill-conceived provisions will have chilling effects on free speech everywhere.

Mister president and his husband - part 2

Tomorrow is the big day, the presidential election round two, Finland chooses the president. And we made the headlines outside Finland too

We're gonna watch the elections with my friends Penpen and possibly also Ktiraam. And maybe celebrate a little (even if Pekka doesn't win, which hopefully wont happen, but is a big probability because older Finns are still so homophobic...that's where it all comes down to: He would be a much much better and more qualified president, but he's gay. Argh!).

Really, Pekka Haavisto has worked as diplomat around the world, even in countries that do not accept homosexuality. And still people complain about it, like it was something that made work for him impossible. It's not! He's also a great man, an awesome diplomat, a good speaker and a kind person and would be the best president ever!
I got to meet him on his presidential
candidate tour. What an honour! ♥
We'll celebrate because tomorrow is my birthday!

Happy birthday to meeee, happy birthday to meeee! I already got an awesome present from my dad, a camera tripod. I've been hoping to get one even since I got my new camera. This means: awesome night photos, hurraaaa! ^___^
